Is his role as Lead Therapist, Jim provides treatment for clients suffering from addiction, mental health issues and trauma/PTSD. Jim is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a Certified Addictions Professional and an EMDR Practitioner. Jim has more than 30 years of experience working as a therapist, clinical director, executive director and adjunct professor. Jim is an excellent diagnostician, with the insight to identify and address core issues. Jim completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. He wen to cot complete a Master of Counselor Education at Penn State University.
Jim’s eclectic approach to treatment incorporates Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt and Rogerian approaches in addition to EMDR. The treatment of trauma is the foundation of his clinical work as symptoms of PTSD and Acute Stress Disorder are often mistaken as traditional denial defenses found in addiction. Jim’s strong working knowledge of psychiatric medications, when combined with his clinical approach, results in healing for the person. Jim embraces a team approach to care and enriches the experience for the client.
